(Belated) Energizing the Eagles: BC vs. FSU

What’s up Eags?! I know this one is a little bit late seeing as the game has already happened. I’ve been pretty busy in Greece eating feta and protectively grabbing at my liver. But I’m committed to getting these out and providing that much needed energy jolt, whether it’s before or after the game. As such, I haven’t checked the score and I know nothing about the result. I repeat: I do not know what happened in BC-FSU last night. And I’m actually really excited to write this hype speech. Why? Because…

Yeah I know BC hasn’t looked great this year. In fact, some of our harsher critics might describe the team as “a flaming shit heap of awfulness that should be legally barred from being within 500 yards of astroturf.” But, all that changes last night tonight.

Yes, we’re facing (faced) Florida State, an opponent we’ve historically been terrible against. We’ve only beaten them once in the past twelve years and haven’t beaten them in Tallahassee in 14 years. Oh, and this is happening (happened):

That’s a lot of fans, yes. But I don’t expect a bunch of people who voluntarily live in the Florida Panhandle to get overly drunk and hostile. Having said that, just by sheer numbers, BC’s road fan section, consisting of 4 weirdos who go to every game and 8 sets of player parents who only went because they happened to live in Florida now and couldn’t justify not making the drive, will have its hands full.

Plus on top of history, a massive crowd, and general common sense all going against us, the Noles are actually good again. They’re undefeated with a promising young QB in Jordan Travis and the weapons we’re accustomed to seeing in Tallahassee.

But none of that matters.

Because tonight (last night), we defy the odds. Tonight (again, game already happened), we turn the season around. Tonight (beating a dead horse now), we take down the Florida State Seminoles.

We’re going to march into Doak Campbell Stadium and show the Noles what a real football team looks like. We are not, I repeat, NOT going to get shit pumped by 30 and clearly demonstrate that we are the worst team by far in arguably the worst Power 5 conference.

We are NOT going to give up massive play after massive play with little to no resistance or fight.

We are NOT going to come out so anemic and uninspired that you’d think the team all collectively own one dog and they just found out that the dog died.

And we are NOT going to bring in all of our backups in the 2nd half because FSU took pity on us and stopped trying.

No sir, none of that shit will happen. The Eagles will come out firing, pressure the ball, and put up points en route to a comfortable two touchdown victory. ACC championship, here we come. Roll fucking Eags.
